Al Frankowski Accepts Tenure-Track Position at Northeastern Illinois University


Doctoral Candidate Al Frankowski has accepted the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Northeastern Illinois University. Along with lower division classes, Al will teach specialized courses in 19th and 20th Century Continental Philosophy (including German Idealism, Phenomenology and Hermeneutics, Critical Theory, Marxism, Psychoanalysis, and Post-Structuralism), Contemporary Philosophy, Critical Race Theory, and African American Philosophy. Al plans to defend his dissertation, The Cassandra Complex: On Violence, Racism, and Mourning during the Spring 2012 term. In his dissertation, Al analyzes discreet aspects of anti-Black racism that define what he calls “Post-Racial Memory.”
