Advising

Bonnie Mann, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, serves as the official advisor of all philosophy graduate students until they choose an advisor (or dissertation advisor). Students should plan to meet with Professor Mann to discuss how they plan to satisfy the requirements for a philosophy degree. They also should consult with her about which courses satisfy which distribution requirements, satisfaction of the foreign language requirements, teaching assistantships inside and outside of the department, and fellowships.

Please note: Application materials must be postmarked by
January 15 to be considered for the following academic
year (exception: if January 15 falls on a weekend or holiday,
forms are to be postmarked by the following business day).
