George Rebec Prize

The Philosophy Department is now accepting submissions for the 2008 George Rebec Prize for the best essay by a philosophy student.

There are two separate prizes of $100 available, one for graduate students and the other for undergraduate students in Philosophy.

The essay will typically be a paper that you have written for a philosophy class; however, it is not limited to such an essay. Papers need to be typewritten, double-spaced, and

must not exceed 20 pages in length. Please indicate on the paper that it is a submission for the Rebec Prize.

The graduate award decision will be made by the faculty members currently serving on the Graduate Studies Committee; the undergraduate award decision will be made by the faculty members currently serving on the Undergraduate Studies Committee.

If you are interested in being considered for this prize, please supply two copies of your essay to TK McDonald in the Philosophy Department office, no later than Friday, May 2.
