Professor McWhorter specializes in 20th Century French and German Philosophy, Queer Theory, and Political Theory. She is an author of Heidegger and the Earth: Essays in Environmental Philosophy (2009, University of Toronto Press), Racism and Sexual Oppression in Anglo-America: A Genealogy (2009, Indiana UP), Simone de Beauvoir (1996, World of Philosophy audio book), Heidegger and the Earth: Essays in Environmental Philosophy (1992), as well as numerous articles and book chapters, such as Bodies and Pleasures: Foucault and the Politics of Sexual Normalization, 1999, and “Racism and Responsibility” in Difficulties of the Ethical Life (2008, Fordham UP).
