Lucy Schultz awarded 2012-13 OHC Graduate Research Support Fellowship

Lucy Schultz (ABD) received an Oregon Humanities Center Graduate Research Support Fellowship for 2012-2013 to support her dissertation research. Schultz’s dissertation examines conceptions of genius and artistic creation from an East-West perspective in order to describe the ways in which nature becomes expressive through art. Schultz maintains that an acknowledgment of nature’s expressive capacity has the potential to positively transform how we understand and relate to the natural world. Schultz will present a portion of her dissertation at the 2012 meeting of the International Association for Environmental Philosophy during the American Philosophical Association Eastern division meetings in Atlanta.
